Notifications and the Dock badge

Choose all mail, only your contacts, or none.

Choose in Settings › General › Notifications: all new mail, only mail from people in your contacts, or none. Notifications show the sender and subject while Mailroom isn’t the app in front.

The unread count on the Dock icon stays either way.

If notifications don’t appear, open System Settings › Notifications › Mailroom and allow them. Focus modes can hide them too.
